I had a pleasure to work with the descendants from the author of this memoir. The books is Zygmunt Andruszewski's diary and among over 400 pages we get to know him and his entire family. Story is also strictly linked with a manor house - Smolin. This estate does not exist by now, which makes the history and documented memorabilia all the more important. It's a very interesting read for all those who like non-fiction literature and are interested in a history of Polish Eastern borderlands in XX century.
Book consists of many (over 250!) visual materials. Beautiful archival photographs, maps and documents, poems, paintings and drawings accompany the story to make it even more interesting.
Cover design is a reference to stamp being used often by the author. Original of the stamp and author's signature is shown inside of the book.
